Metabolic age on InBody is an orientation figure that compares your estimated resting metabolism, fat-free mass and body composition with a reference population – it is not a diagnosis, a biological age or a precise verdict on how "young" or "old" your body is. It sounds personal and exact, but it works best as a rough, simplified comment, not a label to take literally. It can be motivating, but it should not become a diagnosis or a training goal in itself.

Metabolic age usually compares your estimated resting metabolism and body composition with typical values in a reference group. A lower value may suggest a more favorable muscle-metabolic context, while a higher value may point to a weaker muscle-to-fat picture.
Different devices and outputs may emphasize different values. Some show metabolic age directly, others focus more on BMR, muscle mass, fat and water. If you do not see metabolic age on a result, it does not mean an essential health value is missing.
The practical decisions still come mainly from body composition and trend, not from the label itself.
BMR is closely connected with fat-free mass. More muscle and other active tissue generally support a higher resting energy expenditure, while lower muscle mass can make the number look weaker.
That does not mean you can fix metabolic age by chasing one value. It is usually a consequence of the broader picture: muscle mass, fat mass, body water, body weight, age, sex and current routine.
